A pioneer in the implementation of Person and Family
Centered practice, the Wraparound Process, therapeutic
foster care, community assessment, system design and
strengths-based behavior interventions, Mary Grealish
brings expertise and sensitivity to Community Partners,
Inc. With more than 20 years experience in providing
therapeutic intervention for at-risk children, adults,
and families, Ms. Grealish serves people and systems
wherever they are.
Her simple and seemingly obvious approach: "Tailor the
necessary services to suit each consumer, each child, and
each family, and
work from their strengths," continues to bring acclaim
and gratitude from children and families, communities,
and systems of care. |

Mary
has worked in just about every environment available for
the support of adults and children who have unmet needs,
and their families. |

She
has consulted in designing and implementing local
systems of care that are consumer friendly, responsive
to needs, and highly effective in producing desired
outcomes. Mary's work in behavior management, resource
recruitment, individualized planning and development,
and staff training and support systems has been so
successful that she has consulted with many states,
provinces, and communities on a continuing basis. She
has also assisted in the development of a broad spectrum
of community-based services that are consumer- and
family- driven, collaborative, unconditional, and
individualized. |

As
the mother of two, including a young adult who has
serious and persistent mental illnesses and a friend,
caregiver, and advocate of many vulnerable adults, Mary
has the kind of personal experience that fosters
compassion, advocacy, and creative problem solving. Her
skills and insights have been further enhanced by the 17
children, all diagnosed with severe emotional
disturbance, for whom she served as a treatment foster
parent. |

These experiences have led
her to develop a real expertise in finding and utilizing
informal community supports and resources. Mary's
children, foster children, and friends have helped her
master important lessons: do no harm: learn each
person's strengths regardless of her/his situation; keep
hope alive by helping people meet their needs; and help
produce results that best express individual and family
visions of a better life. |
